Summer Sketch Fusion

The Summer School Program is a creative and skill-oriented initiative designed to provide students with an enriching exposure to the world of fine arts, sketching, and traditional Indian art forms, particularly Mandana art. The program aims to nurture creativity, imagination, and artistic confidence among participants through a series of interactive workshops, practical sessions, and guided demonstrations conducted by experienced faculty members and artists. The fine art component of the program focuses on introducing students to the fundamentals of drawing, shading, color theory, composition, and visual storytelling. Through hands-on activities, students will learn essential sketching techniques, including pencil rendering, object sketching, landscape drawing, and creative illustration, enabling them to develop observation skills, precision, and artistic expression. A special highlight of the summer school program is the introduction to Mandana art, a traditional folk art form of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan that reflects India’s rich cultural heritage. Participants will gain knowledge about the historical and cultural significance of Mandana designs, traditional motifs, symbolic patterns, and natural color applications. Practical sessions will encourage students to create their own Mandana artworks, helping preserve and promote indigenous art traditions among younger generations. The program is also designed to promote experiential learning, teamwork, and innovation by encouraging students to participate in collaborative art activities, exhibitions, and creative competitions. It provides a platform for students to express their ideas, emotions, and cultural identity through art while improving concentration, patience, and aesthetic appreciation. In addition to artistic development, the Summer School Program seeks to strengthen academic and community engagement between SAGE University and reputed schools across Bhopal. By creating opportunities for interaction between school students, educators, and university faculty, the initiative fosters collaborative learning, cultural exchange, and awareness about higher education opportunities in creative and interdisciplinary fields. Overall, the Summer School Program aims to create a vibrant learning environment where students can explore their artistic potential, appreciate traditional Indian art forms, and develop creativity as an essential life skill for personal and professional growth.
