Overview
The Summer School on “Experimental Techniques in Biochemistry, Microbiology and Molecular Biology: A Practical Approach” is designed to provide participants with comprehensive theoretical knowledge and hands-on training in fundamental and advanced laboratory methodologies. The program integrates classical microbiological techniques with modern biochemical and molecular tools, enabling a multidisciplinary understanding of biological systems. Participants will gain practical exposure to microbial culturing, staining, biochemical assays, chromatography, spectrophotometry, DNA extraction, PCR, and gel electrophoresis, along with an introduction to advanced approaches such as sequencing and bioinformatics. Emphasis is placed on experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation to enhance research aptitude and technical competence. The course also highlights real-world applications in clinical diagnostics, environmental monitoring, and industrial biotechnology. By bridging foundational concepts with emerging technologies, the program aims to develop skilled manpower equipped for academic research, industry, and innovation in the rapidly evolving biosciences domain.
The Key objective for the proposed SAGE Summer School is "To equip participants with integrated theoretical understanding and hands-on proficiency in biochemical, microbiological, and molecular biology techniques for accurate analysis, experimentation, and real-world applications in biosciences"
