Overview
The Winter School programme “Mutual Funds and Wealth Creation: Practical Perspectives” aims to provide participants with a clear understanding of mutual funds as an effective instrument for long-term wealth creation. In today’s evolving financial environment, mutual funds have become a popular investment avenue due to professional management, diversification, and accessibility to investors. With the rapid growth of the mutual fund industry in India under the regulation of the Securities and Exchange Board of India, gaining practical knowledge about mutual fund investments has become increasingly important for students, academicians, finance professionals, and informed investors.
This course combines conceptual learning with practical exposure to mutual fund products, investment strategies, performance evaluation, and portfolio construction. Participants will learn how to analyze mutual fund schemes, understand risk–return dynamics, and design investment strategies aligned with financial goals. Using industry insights and data from institutions such as the Association of Mutual Funds in India, the programme aims to equip participants with the analytical skills necessary to make informed investment decisions and build sustainable wealth through disciplined investing.

- Profile: CS Chitra Shridhar is a visionary educator and institutional ambassador known for integrating academic rigor with professional skill-building. With a strong foundation in corporate governance and legal frameworks, she mentors students in strategic thinking, ethical leadership, and financial literacy. She actively contributes to curriculum design, certification programs, and has published multiple research papers in the national and international conferences and also holds two patents and has actively participated in numerous Faculty Development Programs (FDPs).
Ms. Ratna Raghuwanshi
Profile: Ms. Ratna Raghuwanshi is a dedicated academician with a strong interdisciplinary foundation in commerce and law. Her qualifications as a CS (Inter), along with degrees in M.Com, B.Com, and LLB, empower her to deliver in-depth insights into corporate legislation and taxation practices. She is passionate about nurturing legal and financial literacy among students through a practical, case-based teaching approach.
Dr. Bhawna Sharma
Profile: Dr. Bhawna Sharma is a seasoned academician known for her practical teaching approach and commitment to student development. With over 15 years of experience across reputed institutions, she brings deep expertise in finance, HR, and quantitative disciplines. Her academic journey is marked by excellence, having been a college topper in both undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
Ms. Aarti Upadhyay
Ms. Aarti Upadhyay, Assistant Professor at the School of Commerce, SAGE University Bhopal, is a seasoned academic with over 13 years of experience and expertise in Accounting, Taxation, and Finance. Holding an M.Com and CA-IPCC, and currently pursuing her Ph.D., she is known for her student-centric teaching and institutional leadership. Beyond the classroom, she spearheads the branding initiatives of the School of Commerce, heads the university-level Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), and mentors budding innovators through Avinya—the school’s entrepreneurship club. With published research, national conference presentations, and a patent to her credit, Ms. Upadhyay exemplifies academic excellence, innovation, and a deep commitment to student success.
Dr. Priya Pancholi
Dr. Priya Pacholi is a dedicated academician with over 7 years of experience in teaching and research, specializing in Business Laws and Taxation. Her expertise spans commercial law, market behaviour, and practical applications of taxation for commerce and law students. She has published multiple research papers in reputed international journals and presented at national conferences, earning accolades including the Second-Best Paper Presentation Award by MGMM, Jabalpur. She has organized workshops such as the Derivative Commodity Workshop by NSE and holds an NPTEL certification from IIT Roorkee.
