Hands-on experience in discovering, cultivating, and isolating diverse microorganisms.Understanding of environmental sample collection and processing.Functional Analysis: Emphasis on understanding the energetic potential of diverse metabolisms and functional traits of microbial communities.

1. Identify common microorganisms from various habitats such as soil, water and air, environments using basic microbiological techniques.

2. Describe the structural and physiological characteristics of microorganisms from different ecological niches.

3.  Analyze the functional roles of microorganisms in natural ecosystems and human-related processes (e.g., Agriculture, nutrient cycling, decomposition, industrial use).

1. Introduction and overview on Microbiology, Principle and working of instruments used in a Microbiology lab.

2. Preparation of culture media and preparation of media and Autoclaving

3.Isolation and enumeration of microorganism from soil and rhizosphere by serial dilution method

4. Perform serial dilution technique for Isolation  and Incubation of  the culture plate

5.Preparation for Isolation and enumeration of microorganism from air

6.Measurement of growth and enumeration of microorganism, Measure the CFU count

7. Observation Colony morphology  and Microscopic identification of bacteria and fungi

8.Physiological activity of Microorganisms and Biochemical 

9.Analysis of water by MPN test

10.Maintenance of Pure cultures and Applications
