Overview
The Advanced Training Program on Drug Development and Analysis is a comprehensive 15-day summer school designed to provide in-depth knowledge and practical exposure to the key stages of drug discovery, formulation, and evaluation. Aligned with the vision of National Education Policy 2020, the program emphasizes experiential learning, skill development, multidisciplinary education, and industry integration to enhance the employability and competence of pharmacy students.
The curriculum covers essential aspects of drug development, including preformulation studies, formulation of solid and liquid dosage forms, and evaluation parameters for quality assurance. Participants will gain practical experience with advanced analytical tools such as UV-Visible spectroscopy and High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), along with an understanding of calibration, validation, and data interpretation.
In addition, the program introduces regulatory requirements, including ICH guidelines and quality control standards followed in pharmaceutical industries. Sessions on research methodology, scientific writing, and data analysis are incorporated to strengthen research aptitude in accordance with outcome-based education principles advocated by NEP 2020.
Through a combination of expert lectures, hands-on laboratory sessions, case studies, and mini-projects, the program fosters critical thinking, innovation, and problem-solving skills. Dr. Nitin Deshmukh
Dr. Nitin Deshmukh is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry with over 17 years of teaching and research experience.He earned his Ph.D. from the School of Pharmacy, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore, in 2024, completed his M.Pharm. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), Bhopal, in 2008, and obtained his B.Pharm. from the Institute of Pharmacy, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur. He has published more than 40 research papers, authored five books and one book chapter, and guided 15 M.Pharm. scholars. As the Principal Investigator of an MPCST-funded research project, his work focuses on medicinal plant research and anticancer drug discovery.
Dr. Harun M. Patel
He is an accomplished academician and researcher in the field of pharmaceutical sciences with extensive experience in teaching, research, and professional development. His expertise includes pharmaceutical education, research methodology, and interdisciplinary healthcare sciences. Throughout his career, he has actively contributed to academic excellence through research publications, student mentoring, and participation in national and international scientific forums. Dr. Love Kumar Soni
Dr. Love Kumar Soni, Ph.D. in Pharmacy and M.Pharm. in Medicinal & Pharmaceutical Chemistry, is a distinguished Professor at the School of Pharmacy, Devi Ahilya University, Indore. A recipient of the CSIR Senior Research Fellowship, IDMA Research Award, IPC Best Paper Award, and Research Icon Award, he has made outstanding contributions to medicinal chemistry, drug design, pharmaceutical research, and academic excellence. His expertise continues to inspire innovation in pharmacy education and research.
Ms. Anusha Srivastava
She is a Prime Minister's Research Fellow (PMRF) and Ph.D. Scholar at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore. She holds a Master's degree in Science from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and is a recipient of both the prestigious Prime Minister's Research Fellowship and the UGC Junior Research Fellowship. She has been associated with the School of Life Sciences, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore, as a teaching faculty since January 2023, contributing to research and higher education in the field of life sciences.

Dr. Hemant Swami is currently working as a professor in Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, SAGE University Indore. 19 years of experience in teaching,Dr. Hemant Swami is a Professor and Head of Department at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, SAGE University, Indore. With over 20 years of experience, his research focuses on Pharmaceutical Chemistry and drug formulation. Mr. Hemant Singh Kurmi is a Biotechnology and Bioinformatics Specialist with over 10 years of teaching and research experience in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, and Computer-Aided Drug Design (CADD). He possesses extensive expertise in molecular docking, protein structure prediction, ADME analysis, and computational drug discovery. Proficient in advanced bioinformatics tools and molecular modeling software, he is dedicated to bridging theoretical knowledge with practical applications through hands-on training, workshops, and research-oriented learning in modern biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences.
Dr. Khushboo Aporva
Dr. Khushboo Aporva is an Assistant Professor in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a strong academic and research background. She obtained her Ph.D. from SAGE University, Indore, and M.Pharm. from Swami Vivekanand College of Pharmacy. She has published more than 10 research papers, authored book chapters, and holds patents in her area of research. Her interests include pharmaceutical research, innovative drug development, and quality pharmacy education.
